How much does a renovation cost?

Costs vary enormously depending on scope, specification and the condition of the existing property. As a guide: a full kitchen renovation typically starts around £25,000, a bathroom from £12,000, single-storey extensions from £60,000, from £150,000 upwards. After a site visit we provide an itemised written quote with no hidden extras.

How long does a renovation take?

A bathroom is typically two to four weeks on site, a kitchen four to eight weeks, an extension twelve to twenty weeks, and a full-house renovation four to nine months depending on scope. We give you a written programme with the quote and stick to it.

Are you insured?

Yes. Benchmark carries £5 million public liability cover, plus employer's liability for our team. Certificates are available on request before any work starts.

Do you provide a guarantee?

Every Benchmark project comes with a written workmanship guarantee. You'll also receive electrical and gas certificates on handover, plus manufacturer warranties on all fitted appliances and components.

Are you Checkatrade and Which? Trusted Trader members?

Yes — Benchmark is Checkatrade verified and a Which? Trusted Trader. Both register our work and our reviews independently, so you can verify what we're saying about ourselves.

Which areas do you cover?

Surrey and South London — including Surbiton, Ewell, Worcester Park, Epsom, Kingston, New Malden, Wimbledon and the surrounding areas. If you're nearby and we haven't listed your area, please ask.

Do you handle smaller jobs?

Yes. Smaller works are our day-to-day. Electrical and plumbing upgrades, single-room refurbishments, decorating, snagging — if you've got something in mind, send us a message.

Will I have one point of contact throughout?

Yes. Jordan personally project-manages every Benchmark renovation. You always know who to call, you always get a straight answer, and you always get the same person on the other end of the email.

What happens if something goes wrong on site?

We tell you immediately, in writing, with options and a recommended course of action. Variations are only carried out after written sign-off. We don't ambush clients with surprise invoices at the end of a job — it's not how a project should be run.

Can you work with an architect or designer I've already appointed?

Absolutely. We're happy to come on board at any stage — pre-planning, post-planning, or once drawings are fully tendered. We're equally happy to recommend trusted architects and designers if you don't have one yet.

Didn't see your question?

Just ask.

Jordan reads every enquiry and replies personally — usually within a working day.
